Am 7. Mai 2026 laden wir zu einer besonderen Jubiläumstagung in den Kuppelsaal der TU Wien ein. In Verbindung mit dem 24th European Transport Congress erwartet Sie ein hochkarätiges, internationales Forum rund um die Zukunft der Mobilität – mit spannenden Keynotes, hochkarätig besetzten Panels und wissenschaftlichen Beiträgen aus ganz Europa. Am 8. Mai werden Sie zusätzlich die Möglichkeit haben an diversen Exkursionen teilzunehmen.
Im Zentrum stehen die vier Schlüsselthemen, die unsere Branche derzeit besonders fordern – und in Zukunft noch stärker prägen werden:
- Fachkräfte & Diversität
- Klimawandel & Resilienz
- Instandhaltung & Verfügbarkeit
- Geopolitischer Wandel & strategische Abhängigkeiten
Am Abend feiern wir das 100-jährige Bestehen der ÖVG in der Remise Wien – gemeinsam mit Wegbegleiter:innen, Partnerinstitutionen und allen, die Mobilität mitgestalten.

In 2026, the Austrian Association for Traffic and Transport Sciences (ÖVG) celebrates its 100th anniversary – and we warmly invite you to join us for this special occasion!
On May 7, 2026, we will host an international anniversary conference in the beautiful Kuppelsaal of TU Wien, in conjunction with the 24th European Transport Congress. The event will bring together leading voices from across Europe through inspiring keynotes, high-level panels, and scientific contributions from the mobility and transport research community.
At the heart of the conference are four key topics that pose major challenges – and opportunities – for our sector, now and in the future:
- Labour & diversity
- Climate change & resilience
- Asset management & availability
- Geopolitical change & strategic dependencies
Submissions
The 2026 theme, “Resilient and Reliable Mobility Systems: Insights from Science and Practice,” invites contributions that explore how transport infrastructure can adapt to a changing climate, meet increasing availability demands, and remain robust amid external shocks.
We particularly welcome submissions on, but not limited to, the following topics:
1. Maintenance and Availability of Transport Infrastructures
2. Climate Change and Resilience in Relation to Transport Infrastructures
We invite the submission of extended abstracts (up to 9,000 characters, approx. 4 pages) for peer review by the Scientific Committee. A word template is provided for the extended abstracts. Accepted contributions will be presented in the technical sessions of the conference. Outstanding submissions will be invited to submit a full paper for consideration in special issues at European Transport Studies (ETS) and the Austrian Journal of Traffic Sciences (ÖZV).

Friedrich-List-Award 2026
It is our great pleasure, on behalf of the European Platform of Transport Sciences (EPTS) Foundation e.V., to invite the submission of papers for the 21st European Friedrich-List-Award 2026, dedicated to young transport scientists. The Award will be conferred during the 24th European Transport Congress 2026 in Vienna, Austria.

After the conference, participants will be transferred to the Remise of Wiener Linien, where we will celebrate the ÖVG’s centenary in a festive setting alongside long-time companions, partner institutions, and all those shaping the future of mobility.
